Giving your feedback on critical care

Staff have been thanked for using a new feedback tool which helps build a better understanding between EEAST and one of our critical care teams.

Set up earlier this year, the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust’s (EHAAT) dedicated feedback form is for our crews to complete following a job with HEMS, which encourages on-going development and positive on-scene relations.

Some of the comments include:

  • I think receiving feedback on jobs is vital to prevent PTSD and as a learning tool. I have gratefully received an email giving news of a marvellous outcome for the patient. Thank you for the good news and for assisting us on the job.
  • A lovely air crew that worked well together and were clear and precise with what they wanted to achieve and why. Everything was explained and worked with the land crews rather than took over.
  • Fantastic CRM from the medical team. Kept the ambulance staff fully involved and were very supportive and willing to educate the staff.

Steven Moore, Senior Specialist Operations Manager, said: “It’s not easy to convey one another’s feelings within a tense, difficult, emergency setting like the ones our critical care teams attend and so this feedback tool really gives the perfect opportunity for crews to give their honest and supportive reflection. I’m really pleased that so many people have taken the time to do it, and it demonstrates how strong our partnership working is.”

If you would like to give EHAAT teams feedback following a recent job, then you can access the feedback form here.

The Essex & Herts Air Ambulance will be holding its next clinical governance day, themed on analgesia and sedation, on 17th November. All EEAST staff are welcome to join them – visit the EHAAT website for more info.
