Headspace app launches today across EEAST

Headspace Mindfulness and Meditation app

From today (Tuesday 6th September) Headspace the mindfulness and meditation app, is available for colleagues across EEAST to download free of charge. Volunteers will also have access to the app free of charge from early October.

Headspace provides unique tools and resources to help reduce stress and anxiety whilst helping to increase your energy levels, build resilience and improve your sleep. Just a few minutes of the app’s simple meditation and mindfulness techniques could change your whole day.

Meditation is proven to have a positive impact on mental, physical and emotional health. A recent study indicated that just 30 days of using Headspace resulted in an 11% increase in participants mental resilience.

But don’t just take it from us, here’s what some of our EEAST colleagues who trialled the app had to say about it:

‘I love the Headspace App!  I have always been a little wary of meditation as I thought it was a bit “hippy-dippy,” but Headspace guide you through the process and it is incredibly relaxing.  A great way to escape the stresses of our work and life for a few minutes and it really helps – it is so accessible and friendly.  I love it!’ AOC staff member

‘I started using the Headspace app and forced myself to take 10 mins daily to meditate and clear my mind which I found useful. I found the sleep section the most helpful.  I really liked the sleep cast stories although I don't think I stayed awake until the end of any of them!’ AOC staff member

‘I’ve used headspace for the last few years. Mainly to help me fall asleep, I really love the sleep scapes.’ There is something very therapeutic and relaxing falling asleep to the sound of the waves, Deep Current is my favourite one!’ Senior Management staff member

‘My 8-year-old daughter is a fan of the wave music. She also likes listening to the Sesame sleep stories and doing meditation before sleep, which is under the kids and parent section, we do this together, it has 3 different age groups to pick from. I couldn’t live without it now, it’s part of our routine.’ EEAST staff member
