Introducing: Volunteer Engagement Officer Carissa Tucker

Carrisa T web

A new role has been introduced to the Trust to help improve volunteer engagement, marketing and awareness.

And doing that very job is Carissa Tucker, who joined us this week!

The main objectives of the role will be to develop recruitment marketing and increase volunteer numbers, create opportunities to celebrate the volunteer role, co-ordinate efforts to improve the understanding of the four volunteering roles internally, and everything in between.

Our four volunteer cohorts include the Trust User Group, community first responders (CFRs), volunteer car drivers and the chaplains. The role also complements the new Volunteer Advisory Forum.

Carissa has emigrated here with her young family from South Australia where she worked in a very similar role at SA Ambulance Service and said: “I’m really excited to be joining EEAST and although there’s a lot to learn, I’m looking forward to meeting the volunteer groups and supporting the teams who work with, and within, our communities.”

Carissa is based in Melbourn and over the coming weeks will be busy familiarising herself with everything EEAST; she plans to visit the EOCs, go out on an ambulance, and get out and about to meet as many volunteers and their teams as possible. So if you see her around, please say G’day and give her a warm welcome.
