Laryngoscope issue reported

We’ve been made aware of a potential issue with our laryngoscopes, whereby the light doesn’t work properly when used.

Although only one case has been reported at this stage, we are liaising with the manufacturer about the failure and asking all colleagues to check a laryngoscope is working before using it on a patient.

As these are individually packaged, as a temporary measure please consider carrying one or two extra in each response bag in case there is a problem.

If you do find an issue with a laryngoscope you use, please keep both it and the packaging and report it on Datix as soon as possible, including the batch number.
