NHS pay award payable in September payroll

Following the Government’s announcement of the NHS pay award, we can confirm that this, together with any associated back pay to 1 April 2022, will be made in employee’s September salary payments.    

The Government announced the pay award for substantive NHS staff employed under the remit of the NHS Pay Review Body (NHS PRB) and accepted their recommendations, agreeing to a minimum £1400 consolidated uplift to all pay points, backdated to 1 April 2022. 

In response to this announcement, the following resources are now available on the NHS Employers website: 

• An updated pay poster for 2022/23

• An updated Annex 2 (Pay bands and pay points) of the NHS T&C’s of Service Handbook

• An updated Annex 9 (High cost area supplements) of the NHS T&C’s of Service Handbook 

• The latest annual and hourly pay scales, plus rates inclusive of HCAS payments.
