Outrun an Ambulance

We are now in month two of our Outrun an Ambulance fundraising challenge. So far, 28 fantastic fundraisers have signed up, already raising over £2,200 for EEAST’s charity! An incredible achievement, especially as all funds raised will used to support EEAST’s staff and volunteers.

Last month, we highlighted Shay’s phenomenal accomplishments. You can read more about his story here.

In February, we are focussing on a team from our own workforce. Emma De-Carteret, Director of Corporate Affairs and Performance, alongside her husband, Kevin, and two family friends have signed up to take part in the Outrun an Ambulance challenge.

Calling themselves, ‘The Ambulance Catchers’, the team are hoping to outrun the distance of one of our chosen Ambulances before the end of March. You can view the mileage list below.

Emma says, “Outrun an Ambulance is an opportunity to give something back to our people in light of the hard work and difficulties we have all faced over the last two years. I also want to demonstrate that anyone, at any level, can give back.

“For me personally, it’s a chance to do something to improve my fitness after having a hernia and surgery during lockdown. It also gives me a chance to boost my wellbeing and take a break from my work.”

Good luck to the Ambulance Catchers! You can make a donation by clicking here.

Feeling inspired? You too can sign-up and be part of the #icanoutrunanambulance community.

Despite the name, you don’t have to run the challenge, you can walk, swim, cycle anything as long as it is self-propelled - just choose your distance, timeframe and take part in Outrun an Ambulance in your own way. More information can be found on our website here
