Paramedic banding agreed

Following joint work between the Department of Health, NHS  Employers and ambulance unions, it was announced that paramedics will be re-banded nationally from band 5 to band 6. You can see the full announcement here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-pay-deal-for-paramedics

Lindsey Stafford-Scott, Director of People and Culture, said, “I am delighted that this rebanding has been agreed and it recognises the increased responsibilities paramedics now have. This recognises the vital role that paramedics play in the NHS and healthcare system and will help make the profession more attractive to join.  We, like every ambulance service, will now start working with UNISON whilst we await the full and final guidance on the agreement.

“We appreciate colleagues may have a number of questions that we cannot answer at the moment. EEAST have not been directly involved in the negotiations but will implement the agreement in full once the funding and full details are confirmed. Once we have further information we will share this with you.”
