EEAST staff in west Norfolk are undertaking a 100-mile cycle on 9th September to raise money in memory of their colleague Nick who sadly lost his life in December last year.

Father of two Nick Lee, who lived in Watton, was 46 years old at the time he died. He had served in the Armed Forces and worked for EEAST for over 18 years as a Paramedic in West Norfolk and more recently a Locality Operations Manager.

EEAST paramedics will ride alongside Nick’s friends and family members to raise money for the charity Hope After Suicide Loss, which supports those bereaved by suicide and have supported Nick's family since his death.

The route is just over 100 miles and stops off at ambulance stations around West Norfolk, starting in King’s Lynn, stopping at stations in Hunstanton, Fakenham, Swaffham, Downham Market and Wisbech, before finishing back in King’s Lynn.

Paul Collins, General Area Manager for west Norfolk said: “Nick was a well-liked, respected member of our team and is sadly missed by us all. We hope to see as many people there as possible to support this charity and enjoy a day out in the saddle.”

Nick's wife Michelle added: “Nick was the best husband, father, son and brother we could wish for and we are so very proud of how he served his country and helped to save thousands of lives.”

Speaking about the charity, Michelle said: “The support we have received from Suzie at Hope After Suicide Loss has been priceless; without her help and guidance we would be at a loss. I would urge anybody who has been through this kind of traumatic event to contact her; she is brilliant, but relies solely on charity donations, so we really appreciate all of Nick’s friends and colleagues in remembering him and raising money for such a great cause”.
