Places available for end of life training day

RRV with blurred paramedic

End of life care should help people to live as well as possible until they die, and to die with dignity, but it can be a complicated and difficult part of what we do as an ambulance service.

The Trust has teamed up with Peace Hospice Care and The Hospice of St Francis to provide a specialist end of life training course just for ambulance clinicians, to provide support, guidance, and to learn from the experts.

Running in Watford on 21st July, the 9am-5pm event will include topics like:

  • palliative care emergencies and ‘just in case’ drugs
  • communication skills: breaking bad news and bereavement
  • advance care planning, including DNACPR and associated documentation
  • contacting, assessing and using palliative care services.

All staff are welcome to join the session, and a CPD certificate will be provided to attendees.

If you want to know more, or want to book your place, please contact richard.smith@eastamb.nhs.uk.

The event will be held at the Stanborough Centre (609 St Albans Road, Watford, WD25 9JL), where free parking is available on site. Lunch and refreshments are also included.
