Save the Date for World Patient Safety: 10th – 17th September 2021

On the 17th September, we will be celebrating World Patient Safety Day #worldpatientsafetyday.

The Trust will be supporting the World Health Organisation with this year's global campaign theme, ‘Safe Maternal and Newborn Care’.

In addition, there are the following free external events in support of World Patient Safety Day.

• Healthcare Safety Investigations Conference - Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (hsib.org.uk) to be held virtually on 16^th September 10-15:30. Sharing learning from HSIB investigations, investigation science, safety management systems, making maternity care safer, sharing case studies and patient stories.
• Maternity and Neonatal Cultural Awareness Programme (eastamb.nhs.uk) NHS England and NHS Improvement are providing cultural awareness information, guidance and advice for maternity & neonatal professionals on the 9th and 23rd of September and the 7th October.
• Maternity safety and the role of restorative practice - Harmed Patients Alliance and Baby lifeline are hosting a free webinar on 17^th September 17.00 – 19.20, focusing on maternity safety and the role of restorative practice when things go wrong.

We will also be sharing with you what EEAST has achieved in relation to the WHO World Patient Safety Day 2020-2021 global campaign ‘Speak up for Health worker safety’. So please look out for further information and a dedicated section on Need to Know, from the 10^th September 2021.
