Spaces still available for International Women’s Day event

 

 

You're invited to join a collaborative online event to celebrate International Women’s Day, which will take place on Tuesday 8th March.

The event will take place from 9.30am - 4.15pm and is hosted by Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Police, the Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex and EEAST’s AWE network.

This year’s theme is Break the Bias, and the event is open to all operational and support colleagues from the three services, regardless of gender.

The day is jam packed with a host of exciting speakers including

  • Liz Storey from local breast cancer charity Lady McAdden.
  • Jenny Barnett, Chief Superintendent from Essex Police, who will be talking about being a role model and her professional journey.
  • EEASTs Sandra Chick who will sharing her story of being a Stroke survivor and building personal resilience.
  • Shilla Patel, London Fire Brigades Inclusion Manager who will be discussing inclusive communications.
  • Laura Drury from Laughology who will be leading a session on Reflection, Resilience and Recognition
  • EEASTs Marika Stephenson, Director of People Services, who will be discussing this years theme of Break the Bias.
  • Moira Bruin, Deputy Chief Fire Officer with Essex County Fire and Rescue, who will also be talking about being a role model and her professional journey.

Throughout the day there will also be a number of break out sessions that attendees can choose to join, as well as a raffle to raise funds for this year’s charity, Lady McAdden.
