Speak up about Speaking Up

Freedom to speak up OPT

The Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) team plays a crucial role in raising issues and concerns within our Trust and now the National Guardian’s Office would like to find out about your experience of speaking up at EEAST.

FTSU is a nationwide initiative led by the National Guardian’s Office (NGO) who are currently conducting a review of speaking up across NHS Ambulance Trusts. The NGO will be looking at the speaking up culture within the organisation, your ability to raise concerns within your management structure or via the FTSU team and how well you feel you are listened to, thanked and the support you receive whilst waiting for your concern to be resolved.

During the week commencing 19th September, they are inviting staff from five trusts to participate in a number of focus groups in order to hear their views and experiences.

The focus groups are open to staff and volunteers in all roles throughout the week. They will be held on:

  • Wednesday 21st September – 11-12pm (open to staff who are bands 2-5)
  • Thursday 22nd September - 1-2pm (open to ethnic minority staff)
  • Thursday 22nd September - 3-4pm (open to all staff)
  • Friday 23rd September –11-12pm (open to staff who are bands 6-7)

If you are interested in joining one of the focus groups you can sign up here
