Staff and volunteers launch Bury defib

Staff and community first responders (CFRs) have come together to launch a new community public access defibrillator (CPAD) at Norton Village Hall in Bury.

The defibrillator was given to the Chairman of Norton Parish Council on 25th June by Head of Emergency Control Centre’s (EOC) Gary Morgan and the Woolpit, Elmswell, Norton, Tostock (WENT) CFR group.

It’s the 12th CPAD within the group’s area, with devices provided by the Trust or community organisations like the Coop.

The group were in full force promoting the new devices and offering residents a chance to use the defibrillator.

The WENT group, which is approaching its 9th birthday, consists of four small teams all funded by local communities.
