More than 30 clinicians attended the Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) training day at Magpas Headquarters, Huntingdon on Thursday 19th November.

The training day was themed around ‘timings’ and the importance of time as a factor of survival in the pre-hospital environment.

The morning consisted of a mixture of presentations of complex critical care cases and lectures specific to the theme, such as:

  • - Trauma is a disease of time
  • - Golden hour, pre hospital timings
  • - Neurotrauma - time matters
  • - CCP post ROSC management, present and future

The afternoon included four consecutive simulations involving critically ill or injured patients.

The critical care team are hoping to deliver more of these training days in 2016.

Thanks go to Dan Cody, the associate clinical Director of Magpas, and Magpas for the use of their training facility and equipment and Steven Moore for providing his support.
