Temporary suspension of trauma unit bypass arrangements

Due to current pressures at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, existing regional automatic trauma unit bypass arrangements are temporarily suspended (please see download below). 

For Major trauma candidates from scene:

1. All unintubated adult triage tool positive patients to be taken by ambulance crews to the nearest Trauma Unit. Addenbrooke’s continues to be the Trauma Unit for local patients.
2. Intubated adult trauma patients to be taken to the nearest alternative MTC (or nearest TU if unstable) if within 60mins travel.

NOTE, there is NO change to trauma bypass arrangements for Children (up to 16th birthday)
