Trauma Network Change

NHS logo

The trauma divert has been lifted from Addenbrookes this morning (08:00), and we are therefore able to go back to business as usual [please see attached]. That means the trauma triage tool is active again and bypass is authorised for those who meet the triage tool. Please contact CCD on CH202 for any on scene advice, or alternatively you can contact CAL or the Network Coordination service (NCS) 0300 330 3999.

Thank you to everyone for your assistance during the recent divert.

Below is a plain-text version of the information given in the attached document -

The East of England regional major incident is now formally being stepped down - As a result the Trauma Network and the MTC are moving out of the Trauma-OPEL 4 status and are therefore resulting in the following changes:

1. From incident scene –
          a. Use of East of England Trauma Triage Tool* reinstated for patients with traumatic injuries including scene transfer directly to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

2. From Trauma Units -
          a. Call NCS (0300 330 3999) for transfer decision support as normal.

3. Paediatric patients (up to 16th birthday) continue to follow the triage tool as normal including scene transfer directly to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
