Trust hopeful for new CAD by end of year

HEOC call handler

We are one step closer to a new CAD system this week, as Cleric Computer Services has been announced as our new provider.

The plan is for Cleric to deliver the new system later this year with at least one EOC up and running by the end of November; the company was chosen after a rigorous tender process, which included suppliers presenting a new CAD solution to an EEAST panel made up of call handlers, dispatchers, clinicians, managers, IT representatives and project board members.

Each EOC is now identifying a number of staff ‘super users’; the first to learn the new CAD system, they will then train their colleagues on how it works and help to test the functionality before it goes live.

Gary Morgan, Head of EOC, said: “I’m confident that Cleric will deliver us a new CAD system that will not only improve the service we give to our patients, but be user-friendly and effective for EOC staff as well.

“We’ll be using the very latest technology and I look forward to seeing the results.”
