UK advanced airway care survey

Breathing apparatus

High quality airway care remains one of the most fundamental skills of any out-of-hospital practitioner, but how this should be achieved, and what skills and equipment should be available to paramedics practicing within the UK, remains a controversial subject.

To help provide national leadership on this topic, the College of Paramedics has formed a specialist group to consider the question of advanced airway care provided by paramedics within the UK and specifically to consider the role that intubation has within that.

The results of this survey will be used to inform the official position of the College of Paramedics and the results may also be published to help increase the available evidence base around airway care currently performed by paramedics.
