Learning and Development in partnership with UK Sepsis Trust have released 3 Sepsis eLearning modules.

These are available now on Evolve here: Course: Sepsis UK eLearning (eastamb.nhs.uk)

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition in which the body’s abnormal response to infection causes organ damage.

The eLearning consists of three modules:

Introduction to Sepsis:

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition in which the body’s abnormal response to infection causes organ damage. This module provides a basic overview of sepsis management, including case studies.

Sepsis in Adults:

Although adults over 75 years of age or who are very frail, as well as pregnant women, are especially vulnerable to sepsis, at least 250,000 people every year in the UK are affected by sepsis, and worldwide a life is lost every 3.5 seconds therefore it’s vital to be able to recognise the signs and act quickly. This module delves deeper into adults with sepsis.

Sepsis in Children:

Although the mortality rate is lower for children than adults, it is estimated that 5% - 20% of children with Sepsis in the developed world will die. This module delves deeper into children with sepsis.
