Volunteers’ week is coming!

CFR training Sophie and Carl

In just over a month, the claxon will be sounded for Volunteers’ Week 2016.

The national campaign has been extended for an extra five days this year and will run from 1st to 12th June, and the Trust will be celebrating the contribution of our community first responders, volunteer car drivers, trust user group members and critical care volunteers during the week.

Our annual CFR takeover week will also run from 6th June to highlight the work of our more than 1,500 volunteer life-savers.

The Trust’s communications team would like to hear from co-ordinators and CFRs that have a fundraising event on the horizon, or are planning to hold an event during Volunteers’ Week. Perhaps you are teaching CPR in your community, or manning a CFR recruitment stall in your high street?

The end of Volunteers’ Week will also coincide with the Patron’s Lunch on 12th June, a celebration of the Queen’s lifetime of service to more than 600 charities and organisations to mark her 90th birthday. Communities are also being urged to hold street parties to mark the occasion.

If you would like to get involved in CFR takeover week and planning an event during Volunteers’ Week, let the communications team know by emailing adam.gretton@eastamb.nhs.uk.

If you are on Twitter, we will be using #CFRtakeover hashtag.

We will also log your event on the Volunteers’ Week website. For more information, visit http://volunteersweek.org/
