Ends @ 06:50 and 11:07

Introduction from David

Starts @ 06:54

Ends @ 10:22

Q1 – Any update on new non-fiat vehicles?

Starts @ 11:13

Ends @ 12:05

Q2 - Any update on the issue of Coronation Medal?

Starts @ 12:06

Ends @ 12:47

Q3 - The East Suffolk AGM post has been filled on a temporary basis and has not been offered out either as a secondment or full-time position on TRAC - please could we have an update as to why this hasn't been offered out as yet?

Starts @ 12:48

Ends @ 13:14

Q4 - I have been asked as part of my PDR to complete the Managers Passport. Is there an update on when this will be available? I am keen to make sure I keep developing in my role.

Starts @ 13:16

Ends @ 13:50

Q5 - There is always talk about our well-being being paramount, with this in mind I wonder how cancelling the meal break policy enhances this? Also, why is it the last people to know of this change are those directly affected by it and are only told when they are well past their meal break?

Starts @ 13:52

Ends @ 15:36

Q6 - There is always a of talk about fleet, I wonder what is the rationale behind rolling new vehicles out to PTS before A&E?

Starts @ 15:38

Ends @ 16:22

Q7 - I have asked on two occasions about the gifting of a commemorative flag to the families of our lost colleagues - is there any update please?

Starts @ 16:24

Ends @ 16:59

Q8 – Hello, fully agree on the need to be professional and polite during questions, and as such will ask this openly, however I feel that this respect is missing towards crews on nights from the duty leadership. We are aware we appear to be woefully under resourced at night, but to cancel rest breaks last minute is surely a safety issue, 25+ miles runs out of area at near end of shift. Can an urgent increase in night crews be implemented, as much as I don’t like it maybe incentives for this, another 50% resources, we are often starting day shifts taking over from exhausted night shifts who have gone job to job over long distances with no breaks, catching up with jobs on the stack.

Starts @ 17:01

Ends @ 19:09

Q9 - Will non-frontline staff (support services) get any recognition in the line of coronation medals?

Starts @ 19:11

Ends @ 19:53

Q10 – In answer to a previous question. The East Suffolk AGM post is currently out to advert now as a six-month secondment.

Starts @ 19:54

Ends @ 20:03

Q11 - The changes within the organisation at the moment are very unsettling for those directly affected and the wider staff team. These changes seem very similar to previous initiatives from previous executive teams. What is different about your delivery as it appears to those affected there is no difference? Should road staff also be bracing themselves for disruption as this has historically followed on and seen a massive exodus of patient facing staff?

Starts @ 20:06

Ends @ 21:58

Q12 - Hey Tom, Sorry Time to Lead question. Within the Trust we have paused recruitment or offering Secondments to fulfil senior management roles. However, we are still onboarding permanent roles within certain directorates. Shouldn't we be consistent and not onboard external candidates to ensure our own staff have the opportunity to apply for these roles? Thank you.

Starts @ 21:59

Ends @ 23:11

Q13 - Are we still on track to be paid the one-off payment and pay rise next week?

Starts @ 23:13

Ends @ 23:26

Q14 –  Hugely important subject - Men’s Health. Really liked the way the men’s health network is focussing on a place for us all to be and learn. Having been part of a similar one in another Trust, my view is get involved and be part of it. They are good fun, informative and a great place to share.

Starts @ 23:29

Ends @ 24:13

Q15 - Any update with the coronation medals???

Starts @ 24:15

Ends @ 24:25

Q16 – When we are surging, it is quite common to receive calls that are several hours old. On more than one occasion I have queried when the most recent welfare call has been placed by dispatch and if one could be completed whilst we are enroute. I have travelled in excess of thirty miles for an outstanding call, to be greeted at the door stating that we are no longer required- essentially we are travelling on blue lights to a cancelled call, this could be negated by more frequent welfare calls equally we would then be available for another call. Could this be developed as an action when surging so that wasted journeys are reduced significantly?

Starts @ 24:27

Ends @ 26:00

Q17 - Will those on protected pay receive the pay rise and lump sum for their protected grade?

Starts @ 26:04

Ends @ 26:24

Q18 – What happened to the last hour end of shift trial, has the data been published, if not can it be… can we implement the last hour plan unless there is clear data that harm to patients was actually caused…

Starts @ 26:25

Ends @ 27:02

Q19 – As a patient safety team, we have started seeing an increase in delays - and reviewing the harm them as part of our incident review panel meetings. This is following the trend from last year. Will there be any extra support (finance/personnel) for our team moving forwards? So that we can concentrate on moving forwards and not becoming reactive again (and firefighting).

Starts @ 27:04

Ends @ 27:47

Q20 - Are the Trust on board with the upcoming Medipro paramedic degree programme? I feel that options other than the Cumbria University route should be sought to give staff the option as to where they study.

Starts @ 27:50

Ends @ 28:30

Q21 – Any update on when we will be able to see our rolling hours on GRS?

Starts @ 28:32

Ends @ 28:42

Additional information - The visibility of rolling hours on GRS is due to be turned on in August as part of the GRS upgrade work.

Q22 - In the last two hours would it be possible to ensure that all crews receive jobs that are in area only unless C1?

Starts @ 28:43

Ends @ 29:20

Q23 - When will the 45 offloads be agreed with London hospitals?

Starts @ 29:22

Ends @ 30:33

Q24 – To answer the question on the Leadership Development. On Evolve go to CPD and access Non-Clinical Courses. There are also a great number of Skill Booster videos which are great. We are developing a new accredited Leadership Development programme and will keep you updated on this. We will also look other options to include on Evolve. You are welcome to get in touch with the L&D team and we will support you in ensuring we meet your needs.

Starts @ 30:35

Ends @ 31:09

Q25 - The new trainee ACP roles. Won’t the 75% of band 7 work out less than those that are on band 6 under annex 5? This is the only thing putting me off applying. I want the progression but not at a detriment to pay.

Starts @ 31:12

Ends @ 32:16

Q26 - In many areas the police service is now not attending mental health jobs and at times there are stand offs between ambulance and police with the ambulance saying they are not going in without police due to risk markers stating this, and the police saying they are not coming unless the crew has made patient contact and is being aggressive towards them or there are access problems, its putting our staff at risk. And we need to remember there is a patient in the middle of this.

Starts @ 32:17

Ends @ 34:00

Q27 - Many vehicles suffer air con issues at this time of year. Could it be made policy that all vehicles have an air con service for both the cab and saloon in e.g., April every year?

Starts @ 34:02

Ends @ 34:29

Q28 -  Leadership Learning Circle -Tuesday 20 June at 2pm - 4pm (MST). In helping to understand and raise the awareness of Mens Health week, the next Leadership Circle virtual session will be held on Tuesday at 2pm - 4pm
Topic : Understanding Mens Health & Wellbeing
We seem to have lot more spaces available this time. Please could you help nominate a member from each of your team to book via Evolve.

Starts @ 34:37

Ends @ 35:18

Q29 - I would like to propose a “training day” whilst on relief, where the line on relief is placed on training for one of their relief shifts. I have been told this is not possible but feel that it would greatly benefit staff. If I write a proposal can it be looked at by the Exec team to see if it is something we could facilitate? Training and updates are very important for all roles in the Trust.

Starts @ 35:22

Ends @ 36:05

Close from Tom

Ends @ 52:29
