Aims:

To consider approaches to care for those who are approaching the end of life and call 999.

Objectives:

To recognise dying
To describe the role of anticipatory medicines to keep patients comfortable
To explore documents available to aid decision making (including Respect and DNACPR forms)
To recognise palliative care emergencies
To consider approaches to difficult conversations
To identify services available to support palliative care patients
