Anti-Bullying Week

anti bullying week

Today, the 15th November, marks the start of Anti-Bullying week.

This year,One Kind Word has been chosen as the theme for Anti-Bullying Week. As part of this, please take the time to be kind to others. This can be as simple as asking if someone is ok if they look upset or distressed. One Kind Word really can make a difference, especially for those who may be struggling. If you, or someone you know, requires wellbeing support, information can be found on our wellbeing leaflet or further resources can be accessed on our Wellbeing page.

As always, if you are being bullied or harassed, or you are witness to any form of mistreatment, we are asking you to Speak Up and Speak Out so we can Stop It. There are several ways you can talk to someone about your experience.

  • Your line manager, if appropriate.
  • Contact our Freedom to Speak Up Guardian through the designated, confidential email address FTSU@eastamb.nhs.uk You can also call our guardian on 07562 158013.
  • The OCE email address

Further details can be found here.

Anti-bullying week will begin with Odd Socks Day. This is designed to be a bit of fun and an opportunity to encourage self-expression and individuality – what makes us all unique – while raising awareness about bullying.

Simply wear your finest and most colourful odd socks and take a photo of your feet. Or perhaps you can even do group/team photo.

If you have your own Twitter or Instagram account, please upload your photo there and use the hashtags #AntiBullyingWeek, #OddSocksDay and #OneKindWord and please remember to tag @EastEngandAmb so we can share your photo too.

If you don’t have Twitter or Instagram, then send your photos to webteam@eastamb.nhs.uk and we will post from the Trust accounts.
